MASSAGE THERAPY

You know that post-massage feeling. Your mind is clear and your body is relaxed. An occasional massage leaves you feeling great, but regular massage can do so much more. The work your therapist does in each session builds on itself, helping your body maintain its relaxed state and your muscles to remain loose even during times of physical and mental stress.

Melissa originally attended Twin Lakes College of the Healing Arts in Santa Cruz, CA in 2008 but did not begin her career till she graduated from Central Oregon Community College in 2016 with an Associate's Degree in Massage Therapy. Melissa has specific training in Sport's Massage and chronic injuries and has worked on a variety of conditions as the primary LMT at an outpatient Physical Therapy clinic. She aims to create a massage that is as relaxing as it is therapeutic to leave you restored, performing your best and enjoying life.

As always, aromatherapy and cupping are included.

Therapeutic & Restorative BodyWork
Carolyn Burgess

LMT #22106

I have great respect for the human body for its ability to heal and for the human spirit’s ability to rebalance. As a registered nurse, I witnessed the effects of the many stages of cancer and the impact of treatment. As a personal fitness trainer, my focus was on exercise prescriptions and sport-specific conditioning. Time after time during almost 15 years in health care, I saw recovery against all odds. I saw determination to develop muscle and improve mobility. I am continually in awe of the human body- a simply perfect set of organs upon which our attitudes greatly influence.

I graduated from the Massage Therapy program at Central Oregon Community College in 2015. I appreciate and practice Massage Therapy for the physiological and psychological benefits that assist the body to adapt and repair. Pain, whether acute or chronic, whether from doing something new or from overuse, can be reduced and movement can be restored by the therapeutic effects of massage. Additionally, time spent receiving a massage can fortify the mind-body connection and increase an overall sense of well-being.

My intention in the practice of massage is to provide therapeutic bodywork as well as the space to rebalance and restore. I offer deep tissue work and Swedish relaxation massage and incorporate cupping, heat therapy and essential oils.
